Linn County offers full-time and part-time employees who are scheduled to work 20 hours a week or more a dental insurance plan administered by Delta Dental. Your premium will vary based on the number of hours you are regularly scheduled to work.
Employees have 31 days from their date of hire or 31 days from the date of a qualifying life event to make changes to their dental insurance policies.
Qualifying Life Events
If you experience a qualifying life event, you must make changes to your dental policy within 31 days of the event. Qualifying events include, but are not limited to:
Marriage, divorce, or legal separation
Birth or adoption (of placement of adoption) of a child
Death of a covered dependent
Loss or gain of eligibility for insurance coverage for you or a covered dependent
If you experience a qualifying event, you must notify Human Resources at 319-892-5120 within 31 days of the event date to update your benefits information. If you miss the 31 day deadline, no changes can be made unless you have another qualifying life event.
Linn County does not offer open enrollment for dental benefits. Changes can be made within 31 days from hire date or 31 days from an event date.
