Did you miss the preregistration deadline? If you reside in Iowa, you can still register and vote through the Election Day registration process. This process must be done in-person either at the Auditor's Office when voting absentee or at the polling location on Election Day. The process is required since there is not sufficient time to verify your identity and your address in the normal manner.
The process involves proving who you are and where you live. This is done by providing proper identification or attestation. For an explanation of Election Day registration, a list of approved forms of identification, and information on who may attest for you, check out the Secretary of State website.
Warning: Voter fraud is a felony. Anyone who submits fraudulent information on a voter registration form will be prosecuted.
