Historic Preservation Grant Program
The deadline to apply for the grant is April 2, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
Please read the application carefully because it includes information on eligibility and the types of projects that are eligible for funding. Only non-profit organizations located in Linn County, Iowa, are eligible to apply. Individuals are not eligible. Due to legal restrictions, Iowa Code Section 331.901(5), organizations under ecclesiastical or sectarian management are not eligible for Linn County grant funds.
Previously funded projects must be complete and reporting requirements must be met in order to apply for funding.
Projects must be designed for the purpose of collecting and preserving historical materials, artifacts, places, or structures, including National Register of Historic Places nominations; maintaining a historical library or collection; conducting historical studies or research; issuing educational publications (not membership newsletters); providing public lectures of historical interest; attending historic preservation conferences; or otherwise disseminating a knowledge of the history of the area to the general public.
Grant BriefingA grant briefing will be held March 3, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. for applicants interested in applying for the Historic Preservation Grant. The briefing will be held at the Coggon Center, 408 East Linn Street in Coggon, Iowa . Attendance is not required; however, it is strongly encouraged. A Property Condition Worksheet must be filled out by applicants requesting funding for structural projects (including but not limited to roofs, tuckpointing, painting, windows, flooring, wallpaper, doors, etc.).

FY18 Final Reports
All grant recipients must complete a final report. Final reports and expense documentation for the FY18 Historic Preservation Grant Program must be received by March 15, 2018 by 5:00 p.m. Organizations must complete their grant-funded projects and be current on the reporting requirements to be eligible for future grant funding.
