The concrete overlay project on Edgewood Road was let on March 27, 2018 and was awarded to Horsfield Construction, Inc. of Epworth, Iowa for a cost of $936,121.80. The contract specifies a late start date of June 4th, but an exact start date has not been determined yet.

Lewis Access Road Project Update

Concrete paving project on Lewis Access Road from the Cedar River bridge to the I-380 overpass. The project is tentatively scheduled for a March 6, 2018 letting. More project details will be provided once the contract is awarded.

The project has been awarded to Croell, Inc. of New Hampton, Iowa for the price $873,932.13. The contractor tentatively plans to start construction in early July. Construction is expected to take approximately 6-8 weeks. More details will become available as construction nears.

The contractor has provided a tentative start date of June 25th. The project is expected to take 6-8 weeks to complete. Milburn Road will remain open to traffic during construction, but delays should be expected. As a reminder, if you are a County resident you will receive a rock taper at your driveway to transition from the new asphalt road down to your existing entrance. If you are interested in paving your entrance please contact me directly for details.

Linn County crews plan to start ditch grading work along Spencer's Grove Road this week. This work is being done in preparation for the concrete overlay scheduled to begin later this summer. The work is being completed in the ditch and is not expected to close the road. However, traffic should prepare for minor delays.

The bridge project is progressing on schedule. The bridge is complete and the contractor is now working on the grading and approach pavement. The project is expected to be complete the first week in June.

Once the project is complete, Spencer's Grove Road will remain closed to traffic. There is a culvert replacement project immediately west of the bridge that will begin as soon as the bridge is complete. The culvert project is expected to take 3 weeks.
