The Sheriffs Office reopened in January 2010 at 320 Second Avenue SW. Three of the buildings four levels were remodeled due to the flooding. The cost of repair and mitigation is covered by FEMA and the State of Iowa. A public open house was held April 17, 2010.
Total Cost: $2.8 million
Funding Source: FEMA and the State of Iowa
Mitigation:
- Mechanical and electrical equipment were moved to an upper level of the building.
- The Communications Center and all associated equipment were relocated to the second floor.
