Linn County Community Health
Did you know that 67.2% of Iowans are overweight or obese? Or that ONE in TWO sexually active young people will get an STD by the age of 25?
Linn County Public Health is always working to improve the health of our community. In addition to offering many individual services, we also work to improve our resident's health. To do this, we conduct a Linn County 'needs assessment' and write a health improvement plan. To read our current Community Health Needs Assessment & Health Improvement Plan, please click on this link: 2011-2014 CHNA-HIP
To address many of the health issues identified in the Health Improvement Plan, Linn County Public Health takes an active role in many local coalitions (groups of individuals and organizations that work together to achieve a common goal). For more information about how you can get involved in local coalitions, please call (319) 892-6082.
We also offer educational presentations on a variety of health topics for schools and colleges, businesses, professionals, parents, clubs/organizations, or the general public. For more information about health presentations please contact Hayley Hegland or Katie Jones at (319) 892-6082.
