<description>In another Sign of Progress, Linn County is pleased to announce construction is nearly complete for the new Community Services Building of Linn County and departments will begin moving into their permanent offices this week. The Community Services Building, located at 1240 26th Avenue Ct. SW in Cedar Rapids, is Linn County’s first new construction project to open following the 2008 flood.

This building promotes efficiency in government by bringing together departments that were in four separate locations prior to the 2008 flood. It will take approximately four weeks to complete the moving process.

“This is a milestone in our rebuilding efforts and we are excited to see this day finally here,” said Ben Rogers, chairman of the Linn County Board of Supervisors. “Our goal is to make this transition with as little disruption to the public as possible.”

A ribbon-cutting and open house will be held October 12.
