Linn County adopted its current multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan on October 22, 2014, which was approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in November 2014. This plan has several functions, including:
Combining hazard planning efforts for different county jurisdictions (cities, school districts, unincorporated areas) into one document;
Identifying how communities can minimize the negative impacts of natural and human-caused hazards; and,
Maintaining participating jurisdictions’ eligibility to apply for Hazard Mitigation Assistance funding.
