Kelly Rae Geater Sworn in as Deputy Linn County Treasurer

Kelly Rae Geater was sworn in as Deputy Linn County Treasurer on December 2. She is one of four deputies in the Linn County Treasurer’s Office.

“I am so excited to begin a new role with the Linn County Treasurer’s Office and to serve the people of Linn County,” Geater said.

Geater will be responsible for working with the Treasurer to balance and maintain financial and investment schedules and bank accounts for the County, assisting in the investment of County funds and budget preparation, overseeing the financial areas in the Motor Vehicle and Property Tax Divisions, and maintaining sound internal accounting controls.

Geater is a graduate of The American Institute of Business, Des Moines, Iowa (1984) with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Computer Programming.

Her work experience includes 24 and a half years with Benton County - four years as a clerk in the Treasurer’s and Auditor’s Offices and the past 21 and a half years as the Benton County Treasurer.
