Regarding Linn County Courthouse:
The Linn County Board of Supervisors has not taken any action to close the courthouse. Out of an abundance of caution to protect the health and safety of the public and our employees, restrictions are in place that limit entry into the courthouse. These restrictions (PDF) have been in place since March 27, 2020.
The county cannot disclose any personal information about employees. Any confirmed cases of COVID-19 are investigated by the local public health department where the resident lives. As a part of the process, the local public health department will notify any potential contacts about their possible exposure.
We know COVID-19 is spreading within the community and have been told by the health community to assume that anyone can have COVID-19. We have been following the guidance and precautions of our public health professionals. All employees who are sick are asked to stay home or are sent home if they are ill and are encouraged to self-isolate.
We practice social distancing in the workplace, and we have enhanced our cleaning protocols within all County facilities. In the event of an exposure, Linn County would follow environmental cleaning and disinfection protocols provided by Linn County Public Health. The health and well-being of the public and our employees remains our highest priority.
