Linn County Public Health Honored at Tribute to Heroes Virtual Event

LINN COUNTY, IA – Linn County Public Health was honored by the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival, accepting the Freedom Festival Heroes recognition on behalf of Frontline Workers and Medical Professionals and Staff at the Tribute to Heroes dinner on Monday, May 24. 

The Tribute to Heroes Virtual Event was held on June 17 at 7:00 pm, honoring all Freedom Festival Heroes and featuring the Tribute to Heroes dinner. The event took place on the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival Facebook event page.

Linn County Public Health was honored with the Tribute to Heroes recognition along with Mercy Medical Center and Unity-Point Health — Cedar Rapids, all accepting on behalf of Frontline Workers and Medical Professionals and Staff. This group of individuals are honored for their heroic efforts in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.  

“Public health is a team sport,” said Pramod Dwivedi, Director of Linn County Public Health. “We cannot really do our work without partnerships throughout our community,” he emphasized.
